Gilly Llewellyn, a marine conservation biologist with World Wildlife Fund s Conservation Science Program, presents Coral Reefs of East Africa and Asia s Island
Archipelagos: Saving the Oceans Rain-forests.
Life in coral reefs with the interactions of myriad species that inhabit these ecological systems is a study in biodiversity. Unfortunately, fragile reefs are threatened by
destructive fishing practices and over-fishing. Llewellyn works with field teams to identify the richest areas of biodiversity and the most threatened reefs. Her work
enables conservationists to focus on critical reef areas and other important sites where green turtles nest and dugongs graze.
